The road less traveled…

My partner and I were attempting to become pregnant. For many reasons – including my sanity – we have put that on the back burner for now and are just working on walking down the road less traveled. We've been through Katrina – moved to Colorado – and our next adventure is headed to California.

Ugh…. March 28, 2011

So, either I didn’t surge this month or my little smiley is being a devil and didn’t want to show his little face.

I gave a call to our RE to discuss our options.  This has been 7 months and 4 inseminations…I should be having a baby shower 7 months into this, not still attempting to get pregnant.  Needless to say when I got her on the phone I was in tears.  The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results…

So, she let me know that we can definitely get more aggressive – as aggressive as we want to get.  We can jump to injectables on the IUI and go to the other end of the extreme (rather than just doing a natural cycle).  I don’t really want to go that far, but I do want to kick it up a notch.  She suggested that we do an ultrasound to make sure that my follies are progressing and that I’ll have an egg to release.  She also explained the trigger shot if it’s necessary for us to use (I didn’t need the explanation since I’ve read EVERYTHING I can get my hands on about IUI and fertility treatments).  We’ll also likely be doing medications (clomid) this cycle as well.

So the plan now is to call and report the beginning of my cycle – and start all over again.
