My partner and I were attempting to become pregnant. For many reasons – including my sanity – we have put that on the back burner for now and are just working on walking down the road less traveled. We've been through Katrina – moved to Colorado – and our next adventure is headed to California.
Day 1-Introduce, recent picture, 15 interesting facts March 8, 2011
I’m a girl who lives for the moment and, in most cases, knows where she’s going.
Lori was my first real girlfriend (as in, not a long distance online relationship that allowed me to pretend that I wasn’t a lesbian).
I went to school in New Orleans and am 75% finished with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I had a full paid scholarship to the University of New Orleans, but unfortunately I haven’t gotten to go back to school after Hurricane Katrina moved us out to Colorado (the ONLY downside of being here).
I’m the oldest of 3 children; I have a brother and a sister
When I was younger our family owned horses and I was a barrel racing champion. At one point my dream in life was to ride the rodeo circuit and be a rodeo queen.
I once wanted to join the band in middle school but the only instrument they had open was the Trombone and I was NOT INTERESTED. I wanted to play the flute more than anything, but I could never get it to make a sound. As a matter of fact, I’m the only person in my family who has no musical talent (other than the bass guitar, but seriously that’s the easiest thing EVER to play).
I’m a published author (a poem that I wrote in 9th grade is published in a poetry collection)
I went to the Louisiana School for Math Science and the Arts which is a magnet high school for gifted and talented kids in Louisiana.
I grew up going to a holy rolling, pew jumping, tongue talking pentecostal church where I met and dated my first boyfriend – and thought I was going to marry him some day.
I’m in sales, and I’m good at what I do, but I would love to find a job that actually made me happy instead of making me money.
I enjoy photography – would love to take a class
I love old country music – I’m OK with the new stuff as well, but I’m absolutely in love with country gold
I once owned a 1965 VW Superbeetle. The plan was to restore it and paint it green with massive flowers – purple petals and yellow middles. I was making minimum wage at a part time job ($5.15 x 20 hours) and found out that one vent on the side of the car was going to cost me more than $100 bucks and dropped that little dream 🙂
I tend to take things personally. I can’t stand when someone has an inaccurate view of me because of a situation that I cannot change. I should probably shut my mouth more often than I do – I’m sure that it would stop a lot of the drama that does enter my life.
I’m named after the Waylon Jennings Song Amanda – My uncle used to sing it to my mother when she was little so she named me after it
🙂 Great 15 things. Love the pictures.
Hi! As a new(ish) reader of your blog, I feel like I’m getting to know you. Awesome. =)
